Renaissance

The emphasis of the Renaissance Workshop is on cross-disciplinary studies in various aspects of English and Continental culture during the Renaissance, including the literary, social, political, and theological. Specific topics vary year to year but ahve included politicl rhetoric, early modern drama and poetry, humanism, theological, legal, and constitutional controversy, book history and material history, and the literature of exploration and colonization. Graduate student presentations of draft articles, dissertation proposals and chapters, and jo talks are given priority. Participants will also have the chance to meet with scholars from other institutions and to engage with new reserch by members of our own faculty.
