May 31: Daniel Telech (Chicago)

For the last meeting of the year we will be hosting Daniel Telech, who will present a paper entitled:

“Spinoza, Sufficient Reasons and the Reality of the Finite”.

The meeting will take place on Friday May 31 from 10:30am to 12:30pm in Wieboldt 130.  The paper will not be distributed in advance.

May 17: Anja Jauernig (Pitt)

This week we will be holding a joint meeting with the German Philosophy Workshop. Our guest will be Anja Jauernig (Pitt). Professor Jauernig will present a paper entitled:

“Kant on Leibniz-Wolffian things in themselves”.

The meeting will take place on Friday, May 17 from 10:30am to 12:30pm in Stuart 102. The paper will not be distributed in advance. Please note the unusual location!

April 11 and 12: Mary Domski (UNM)

On Thursday April 11 and Friday April 12 we will host two joint sessions with the German Philosophy Workshop. Our guest will Be Mary Domski (UNM). Professor Domski will present a paper entitled “Newton’s Mathematics and Empiricism” on April 11 at 5pm, and a paper entitled “Kant and Newton on the a priori necessity of Geometry” on April 12 at 10:30am.

Both meetings will take place in Harper 103. Please note the special times and location.

March 8: Roger Eichorn (UChicago)

This week we are delighted to welcome Roger Eichorn, who will present a paper entitled:

“Righting the Inverted World: Skepticism and the Appearance-Reality Distinction in Montaigne.”
