Welcome to the website for EthNoise!, one of the many graduate research workshops at the University of Chicago, supported by the Council on Advanced Studies. The goal of our workshop is to contribute to the growing interdisciplinary dialogue on music as a social practice, exploring diverse approaches to the study of music in both the humanities and the social sciences. At our regular workshop sessions, students and faculty from a wide range of disciplines and universities present their ongoing research and writing projects.
