"Immigrants’ Health Outcomes: Acculturation, Assimilation, Structural and Post-Structural."

In this study I analyze how health investigators explain research results derived from studying the health, illness, and medical experiences of immigrant populations in the United States. I pursue three specific goals: (1) present a typology of the explanations; (2) outline some of the limitations of the current explanations; and (3) propose the incorporation of cultural practices and social organization to the analysis of health among immigrants.
