The Mass Culture Workshop meets Friday mornings from 10:30 – 12:30 in Cobb 310, unless otherwise noted.

Jan. 15: Marianna Martin, PhD Candidate, Cinema and Media Studies.

Jan 22: Katharina Loew, PhD Candidate, Cinema and Media Studies & Germanic Studies.

Feb 5: P. Adams Sitney, Professor of Visual Arts, Princeton, author of works including Visionary Film, The American Avant-Garde, 1943-2000, Eyes Upside Down: Visionary Filmmakers and the Heritage of Emerson, and Vital Crises in Italian Cinema: Iconography, Stylistics, Politics.

Friday, Feb. 12, 7pm in Cobb 307: Yvonne Rainer’s Film About a Woman Who… film screening and discussion. Presented by the Experimental Film Club, sponsored by the Film Studies Center, the Student Activity Fee, the New Media Workshop and the Theater and Performance Studies Workshop.

Feb. 19: Inga Pollman, PhD Candidate, Cinema and Media Studies.

Feb. 25: Alexander Galloway, Associate Professor, Department of Media, Culture and Communication, New York University. Presented by the New Media Workshop.

Monday, March 1, 3-5pm in Wieboldt 206: Alyson Hrynyk, PhD Candidate, Cinema and Media Studies. Presented by the Theater and Performance Studies Workshop.

March 5: Ling Zhang, Cinema and Media Studies & East Asian Languages and Literatures.

March 12: Scott Richmond, PhD Candidate, Cinema and Media Studies. Presented by the New Media Workshop.

Friday March 12 at 7pm in Cobb 307: Shirley Clarke’s The Connection film screening. Presented by the Experimental Film Club, sponsored by the Film Studies Center and the Student Activity Fee.
