Welcome to CAS Graduate Workshops. We will explore the intersections of religion and the ethical domains and its problems that increasingly extend into the daily lives of the average person (bio-ethics, environmental ethics, social/political ethics, etc.). The workshop will attend to concepts and thinkers who have shaped the currents of moral religious thought and will serve as an intellectual resource to those interested in ethical issues by addressing contemporary moral problems, while also teasing out historical resources that both complicate and contribute towards moral reflection. We will explore the normative visions that religions call forth and the interactions between religiously shaped visions and particular contexts.
