Tues., May 22, 3-4:30pm: Artemis Willis, “Marvelous and Fascinating”: L. Frank Baum’s Fairylogue and Radio-Plays

Please join the Theater and Performance Studies Workshop for our final session of the year:

In her presentation to the workshop, Artemis Willis (Ph.D. Student, Department of Cinema and Media Studies, University of Chicago) will discuss Baum’s 1908 multimedia spectacular as a visionary early attempt to perform a sequenced combination of old and new media.  Could it be that Baum was holding “the master key” to a form of entertainment yet to be realized today?

There is no pre-circulated paper.  Light refreshments will be served!
