About the Workshop

The Transnational Approaches to Modern Europe Workshop meets every other Wednesday throughout the school year. The workshop focuses on the concepts and methods of transnational/comparative history. We read and discuss drafts of dissertation chapters by U Chicago students as well as papers by outside scholars in relevant fields.

Unless otherwise noted, we meet in the John Hope Franklin Room of the Social Sciences Building (room 224) from 5:00-6:30. Papers will be pre-circulated several days before the workshop on Chalk. If you have questions or concerns about the workshop, please feel free to contact co-coordinators Emily Lord Fransee or Caroline Sequin.
